Caring Paws Rescue, Inc. is one of the few local animal rescues that will take the injured animals that require extensive medical care. Without help from the general public, this would not be possible.
After these animals have had their surgery and totally recovered, they are put up for adoption if they are able to be adopted. If they are not able to be adopted, a foster parent will keep them.
Caring Paws Rescue, Inc. is a NO kill rescue.
04/26/2009: Nelson is a handsome pure bred collie. He was turned over to the shelter due to a condition called Demodectic mange, also called "demodicosis," is caused by a microscopic mite of the Demodex genus.
Toby was neglected by his owners. They did not keep his hair cut out of his eyes, and he was in constant pain! He was taken to his vet to be put down because they did not want to deal with it. We save him and paid to have his eyes removed.
RAMSEY IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
UPDATE: 09/17/2009: Ramsey while still awaiting his forever home was diagnosed with Lymphoma. He HAS now found his forever home! He will stay with his foster mother until his time comes.
UPDATE: 7/23/2008 Ramsey had his right front leg removed.
Ramsey is a 1 yr old bird dog mix that was hit by a car and then picked up by animal control. He was then taken the All Pet Emergency Clinic, and they put the cast on his leg. Then Caring Paws Rescue, Inc took him to keep him from being euthanized. Ramsey is neutered, current on vaccinations, and on flea preventative, and is ready to be adopted. He is also pee-pad trained. Do not think that because he only has 3 legs that he cannot get around, because he does! He digs out in the yard & also plays with other dogs!
NESSIE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
She lives with Kenny & Chris (the founders of Caring Paws Rescue, Inc.) & is a big daddy's baby!
03/25/2008 Nessie has been returned to foster care, and we have decided to keep her. We were afraid this was going to happen. She has gotten used to her foster parents, and that is where she wants to be. We cannot turn this little girl away. All she wants is love, and Lord knows we have plenty of love to give her!
However, we still need monetary donations to help pay for her veterinarian bills! If we cannot pay for this bill, we cannot help others like Spirit & Nessie. All donations are tax deductible! You can mail the donations straight to our veterinarian if you prefer!
SPIRIT IS NOT ABLE TO BE ADOPTED
He lives with Tom & Paula & a definite momma's baby!
Spirit has to take medicine everyday, due to his anxiety since been hit by a car!
More than a year after the fact, Caring Paws Rescue, Inc. is still paying for his medication
We need your help in order to keep paying for his medication!
Spirit was taken from a local puppy mill ..... he survived the abuse and neglect there.
Then we found out that he was heartworm positive. We treated him for his heartworms ... he survived this treatment
Spirit was then adopted. He got out of the fence of his new owners on February 11th, 2008 and was out in the snow and ice all alone for a week .. again he survived! Monday night February 18th, 2008 we received a call and he had been hit by a car. We rush to get him, sit up with him all night and the only injuries was to his face. He had to have his eyes removed.
04/02/2008 Honey Bear was hit by a car, that broke one of her legs, and completely smashed the opposite foot. Wow did we have a hard time keeping her down! She had surgery and lots and lots of TLC, and rehabilitation. Finally, in July she was healthy enough and mobile enough to be put up for adoption. She has since found a wonderful home where she has room to run and play!
Hootie was attacked by another dog and had to have one of his eyes removed. Most rescues would have given up and not made the money or given the extra care to make sure this handsome boy had another chance at life. Turns out that Hootie was adopted by a wonderful family right here in Evansville. He sees our groomer "Paula" on a regular basis.
Thanks for your donations
Without your donations, we could not save this beautiful lives!
Caring Paws Rescue, Inc. needs your help! Due to some issues with the zoning board, Caring Paws Rescue Inc is in desperate need of a C-4 zoned building that is at least 3,000.00 sq feet, has running water, preferably concrete floors with drains, and a large fenced in area. We can pay a small amount for rent.
If you would like to make monetary donations to help us get a building, you may do so by calling Chris at 812-306-6500 or emailing @ caringpawsrescue@aol.com
If we cannot find an inexpensive building, these animals that have been rescued once are in danger of going back to the Evansville Animal Care & Control shelter & risk being euthanized.
Please help us to help them!

Update: Nelson was sent to a collie rescue. It seems as though he was breaking out again and they have more experience with the breed and the mites. Good luck my lovely Nelson. We will all miss you!!
Some of the animals below may not be available for adoption.
We wanted the public to see where their donations go!
Red IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
09/14/2009: Red was adopted, then had a mishap with his hip. Red is back in foster care and we had to pay a $500.00 Vet bill to have the ball on his hip removed! We desperately need help paying this bill. Red will be available for adoption when he is healed from his surgery. This has not slowed him down at all!
He is starting to use the leg that was operated on.
Redmond "Red" is a purebred 3 yr old male Pomeranian. He weighs approximately 12 pounds. What a sweetie he is! VERY VERY well behaved! He loves to sit in your lap. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, worming, on flea preventative, house broke, great with other dogs, and cats. He loves children.
